Hello, I'm Kim Larsen, I'm the CISO of Keepit.
With me today, I have Liz Carosval from NOE.
Happy to have you here.
Oh, it's nice to be here.
Can you talk a little bit,
before you went to Keepit into your infrastructure,
what did you do with your 365 and your Entra ID?
Oh,
well,
I'd say kind of worried about it,
because Microsoft,
you know,
all they do for you is just kind of retain the backups.
You can extend that retention,
but you don't have
a true backup to recover from.
So it's even in Microsoft's,
you know,
best practice is,
you know,
tell you,
hey,
this is a shared responsibility.
You've got to go in and do a backup on your own.
And
so
we started looking for, you know, those
SaaS platforms that could recover,
that could do a backup.
And there's quite a few out there.
So we definitely did our due diligence.
And we did fine Keepit.
When you look at your sort of your strategic
initiatives
and your sort of priority ties,
how do you deal with that?
What is your biggest priority when it comes to recovery?
Well,
you know,
we've got to make sure that there's an immutable backup there.
Definitely something we can recover from
should there be any sort of ransomware attack.
Definitely
have to go and find a clean copy to recover from.
So that's definitely been a focus of ours.
One of the things we like about Keepit
is being able to kind of switch over to
do a shareable link and get that data back or be
able to access it immediately if there's an outage,
maybe in Microsoft.
Yeah.
So from a backup perspective,
from my perspective,
at least,
the cornerstone in your sort of recovery
strategy and your resilience strategy.
That was part of the
piece of the puzzle, what was missing.
Yeah.
Definitely M365.
That's its career.
It's critical to the business to be able to recover from that,
to have clean copies should we need to restore.
And even if it's not a huge recovery event,
just being able to get,
you know, people's files back.
We weren't able to do so.
There was a lot of SharePoint sites
in Microsoft that it's very difficult.
And so now,
like I said,
it's definitely helps me sleep at night to know
that we're protected there and we can recover.
Yeah.
Yeah.
So what are the main points that made you choose Keepit?
At the end of the day,
we really liked the private cloud.
Other vendors had a separate tenant.
But if that tenant has an outage,
if they're hosted in Azure and Microsoft has an outage,
we're having that outage with them.
And that was a scary thought.
So we really like the security of Keepit and having a
private cloud.
Thanks, dad.
